128th Anniversary Official Proceedings

Ken Russell (Museum Volunteer) – Tamworth’s special place in Australia’s national development being the first town in Australia to Introduce the electric light, 128 years ago this very day.

John Sommerlad (TRC) – Launch of:

  • The Tamworth Powerstation Museum – Its History.

– Special Award: Awarding of a Certificate of Appreciation to Instrument Craftsman, Mr Ian Scott.

NOTE: The Museum will be open with free entry from 9.00 am to 4.30 pm and the three steam engine driven electric generating sets will be running from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm.
